Boston Trip 2008-09-08

Today we drove into Boston at about 7AM from New York.  We missed the 3AM bus from NYC to Boston because we were too busy at the Comedy Club.  When we got into Boston at 12PM, met up with Kristi.  She was an awesome tour guide as she led us through the crazy streets!  We got to see some break dancers, Boston Common, did the Swan Ride in the central gardens, got to see North-End Church, and ride tons of trains.  It was an awesome trip.  Then we went back to Kristi’s pad and made funny youtube videos– they are the kind of videos you think are funny at the time, then you realize you were just dead tired. But they are still awesome. Cause we awesome like that.

We stayed the night and left again at 12PM– DEAD TIRED, we were too dead to wake up any earlier.  Really, we havn’t slept yet.  We got back into NYC around 8PM and decided to go up the Empire State Building to the 86th floor.  It was awesome, nice and crowded, and full of merchandise.  The view was cool.  It has a nice view of the beams of where the trade center buildings used to be.

We also went to this super authentic Indian food place on 1st ave.  The address is 93 1st st.  If you ever get a chance, Ginny was so right about this place, it is truely amazing, and you must go.  There are these two indian food places, one on the left, the other on the right.  They compete in front of you to get your business, just like lending tree– how banks compete, you win.  They treat you well there.

We are on our way back to LAX now, been an awesome trip, looking forward to the next.  Back to reality for a bit, however hehe :) .

Today we left back for Manhattan at 7AM to find that we can sleep very hard on trains.  We got into the city around 10-11 AM and decided to go to the water in downtown / brooklyn area.  Russell and I took the sightseeing bus to get around and see some great architecture as well as get to awesome food places.  We ate at Novelle which is an amazing italian food place in little italy.  Also saw the waterfall and hurricane weather while on the top of the Water Taxi.  Got some great pictures of the statue of Liberty.  Even did a little salsa on the way around the lake.  Salsa on the Water

We also went to check out the swing dancing scene here at Madison Square Garden, but they were closed.  That didn’t stop us.  We ended up going to the 11:45 show of Gotham Comedy which is featured on comedy central.  It was pretty much awesome!

I am now waiting for the time to pass as we missed our bus for Boston at 3AM, so we are waiting around for the 7AM so we don’t need to get a room.

Today was pretty awesome.  After the train ride north for two hours, we met up with some friends at Marist College in Poughkeepie, NY.  They were pretty awesome in letting us stay with them for the night and going out and experiencing New York!  Marist has a nice college campus, and it was good to see Elizabeth.  We were out for a good while and got home before having to get up early again.

New York is off to an awesome start.  I took a flight from LAX to Denver and then on to New York.  First of all, it could not have been a better flight.  Met some people I wanted to marry.  And although it was a long flight, it was worth it.  I got in about 11PM to LaGuardia and met up with Russell.  We went into Manhattan on the bus.  Pretty much dominated the entire city in one night.  We went through Harlem, above Central Park, Empire State Building, United Nations, Grand Central Station, Time Square, that big church, saw a brawl between a drunk cab driver and the drunk passenger (and an interviening from the NYPD).  It was quite a night.  Ended up staying awake and touring the night away.  Just took a train to Poughkeepies to meet up with a friend.  Its about a two hour train ride from uptown.  It was something I had not expected, it was almost like I was in Oregon or some other “woodsy” state.  It was an awesome ride up the Hudson.   And now I write to you from a cafe directly off of the train ride.  Day two to come soon.
